The Como Book Fair: A Dive into the World of Culture and Reading
From August 24th to September 8th, Piazza Cavour in Como (Cavour Square) will host the 72^ edition of the Fiera del Libro di Como (The Como Book Fair), with old and new books in Italian, English, and many other languages.
The Como Book Fair is a promotional event organized by the Associazione Manifestazioni Librarie in collaboration with the publishers of Editori del Lago di Como and Associati and Confesercenti.
It takes place every year for two weeks and consists of a market fair of local publishing houses and bookshops and a stage for presentations, events, and workshops, all welcomed under the characteristic exhibition tent located in Piazza Cavour, in Como city center, specially prepared for the occasion.
Associazione Manifestazioni Librarie and The Como Book Fair Team
Associazione Manifestazioni Librarie is a non-profit organisation and has, by statute, the commitment to promote reading through exhibitions and cultural events.
This Association has organised all the editions of this fair and counts several participations in local fairs and other events organised by libraries in Como or the province of Como.
Since 2019, the president of the Associazione Manifestazioni Librarie has been the young publisher Alessio Rimoldi, owner of the Dominioni Editore publishing company.
The team that manages the fair organisation includes renowned people of the Como cultural landscape who have worked for decades as booksellers, publishers, and promoters of cultural initiatives, just like Mr Rimoldi.
With the help of two young professionals, curators, and cultural and communication managers, Associazione Manifestazioni Librarie can enrich the project with a fresh, intergenerational perspective.
In fact, the exhibition constantly updates its followers through its social networks, making the experience even more curated and appealing.
In addition to the operating group, the Book Fair uses the booksellers’ and publishers’ multi-level commitment to co-plan the entire event.

How to get to the Como Book Fair from our Hotel Loveno, Menaggio.
If you travel by car, you must take the SS 340, which drives along the lake coast. You’ll get to Piazza Cavour in about an hour, where the Como Book Fair is held.
If you want to travel to Como without stress, we suggest taking the ferry directly from Menaggio’s port. You can reach Como’s port by boat and the fair on foot in around one hour since Piazza Cavour is just in front of the lake.
If you are a bus lover, you can take the bus in Piazza Roma, in Menaggio, and reach the centre of Como in approximately 1h20 minutes.
